Is rejection a diffuse or localized process in small-bowel transplantation? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Utilization of endoscopy to both visualize and selectively biopsy an intestinal allograft has become the standard for early recognition and treatment of intestinal allograft rejection.

3D‐Printed Scaffolds Promote Enhanced Spinal Organoid Formation for Use in Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
3D‐printed organoid scaffolds with microscale channels are developed to enhance spinal cord injury recovery by guiding region‐specific spinal neural progenitor cells. These scaffolds promote axonal growth, cell maturation, and neuronal network formation.

Expression of cytotoxic mediators (perforin, granzyme B, FAS, and FAS-l) in renal allograft biopsies [PDF]

open access: yesEinstein (São Paulo), 2006
Objectives: To analyze the in situ expression of perforin, granzymeB, FAS-L and FAS in renal allograft biopsies by means ofimmunohistochemistry and correlate these findings with the degreeof histologic rejection and allograft outcome.

Current topics of the rejection pathology in human renal allografts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The topics of renal allograft pathology; validation of the Banff classification and a new criterion for chronic rejection are reviewed.

A Novel Sprayable Fibrinogen/Glycosaminoglycans/Collagen‐Based Bioink for Skin Wound Healing Applied by a Handheld Dual‐Head Airbrush

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐head airbrush‐based spraying device, combined with a fibrinogen bioink enriched with glycosaminoglycans and collagen, enables the delivery of biomaterials and cells to promote wound healing. This system demonstrates effective skin regeneration in vitro and in vivo, with comparable results to autografts.

The use of FK-506 for small intestine llotransplantation: Inhibition of acute rejection and prevention of fatal graft-versus-host disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Small intestine allotransplantation in humans is not yet feasible due to the failure of the current methods of immunosuppression. FK-506, a powerful new immunosuppressive agent that is synergistic with cyclosporine, allows long-term survival of ...

Progression of renal damage in chronic rejection [PDF]

open access: yesKidney International, 2000
A significant complication in renal transplantation is the progressive decline of allograft function, commonly called chronic rejection. This complication has been regarded as a result of continuous immunological activity against the allograft. However, the role of nonimmunological factors has become increasingly apparent in triggering or exacerbating ...

Immunomodulation With Local, Sustained Delivery of Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase Activating Polypeptide Results in Improved Functional Recovery in Stroke‐Injured Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The tissue and functional benefits are demonstrated with local, sustained delivery of an anti‐inflammatory peptide, pituitary adenylate cyclase‐activating polypeptide (PACAP), for stroke treatment in a mouse model. Prolonged PACAP treatment modulated astrocyte and microglia toward pro‐reparative phenotypes, enhanced neuroprotection and preservation of ...
