A TD-DFT Study on the Photo-Physicochemical Properties of Chrysophanol from Rheum [PDF]
As a naturally occurring anthraquinone pigment, chrysophanol (MHAQ) has attracted considerable attention in recent years owing to its efficient photosensitivity under the solar spectrum. Considering the successful use of time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) in investigating the photo-physicochemical behaviors of dyes and pigments, we ...

A proton-activatable aminated-chrysophanol sensitizer for photodynamic therapy
Dyes and Pigments, 2017Abstract Exploiting the tumor microenvironment provides a new strategy for cancer treatment. In order to develop the microenvironment-selective photosensitiser, we rationally designed a proton-activatable aminated-chrysophanol derivative-compound 3, which combines fluorescence and reactive oxygen species regulated by the tumor acidic microenvironment

[Determination of chrysophanol in semen Cassiae by HPLC].
Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2000A HPLC method for the determination of chrysophanol in Semen Cassiae was investigated. The result showed that this method was simple, specific and accurate. The recovery was 99.0% and relative standard deviation was 1.8%. The method is useful for the quality control of this medicinal meaterial.

Chrysophanol anthrone: a theoretical study on the potential energy surface
Molecular Simulation, 2016AbstractThe potential energy surface (PES) of chrysophanol anthrone, the active component of Goa Powder, was systematically explored and thoroughly scrutinised via density functional theory, in order to gain an understanding of its physicochemical properties. In particular, we focused on the rotations of the two hydroxyl-phenyl dihedral angles.

Chrysophanol inhibits endoplasmic reticulum stress in cerebral ischemia and reperfusion mice
European Journal of Pharmacology, 2018Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress plays a critical role in mediating ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) damage in the brain. Our previous study showed that Chrysophanol (CHR) alleviated cerebral ischemic injury in mice and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) involved in its neuroprotective effect, but the precise mechanism remains not fully understood. The present study
