A role for hepatic lipase in chylomicron and high density lipoprotein phospholipid metabolism.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1984
The rate of removal of phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylcholine from the plasma of rats treated with antiserum to hepatic lipase was measured. The hepatic lipase antiserum was injected intravenously into animals prior to injection of 32P-labeled ...

Dietary effects on the retina of hamsters

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 6, 31 March 2025.
Western‐type diet increased in hamsters the levels of their blood total cholesterol (TC) and HDL as well as the heterogeneity of their blood HDL subpopulations HDL2 (yellow circles) and HDL3 (green circles). Western‐type diet also affected the expression of various retinal proteins and perhaps some retinal processes that are mediated by these proteins.

Studies on plasma lipoproteins during absorption of exogenous lecithin in man.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1980
Human subjects were infused intraduodenally with either lecithin (150 mg/kg/hr) or safflower oil (100 mg/kg/hr)of similar fatty acid composition, and plasma lipoproteins were studied when constant plasma lipid levels were reached.

Metabolism of cholesterol-enriched chylomicrons. Catabolism of triglyceride by lipoprotein lipase of perfused heart and adipose tissues.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1978
The chemical and biochemical properties of cholesterol-enriched and cholesterol-poor chylomicrons from rat lymph have been compared. The enriched particles, prepared from cholesterol-containing lipid dispersions, passed into the duodenum, had four to ten

Uptake of chylomicron remnants by the liver: further evidence for the modulating role of phospholipids.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1988
Rat lymph chylomicrons were treated with rat heparin-releasable hepatic lipase (HL) or with bovine milk lipoprotein lipase (LPL). The ability of the resulting particles to be taken up by the liver in vivo was assessed following their infusion into the ...

Apoprotein composition and turnover in rat intestinal lymph during steady-state triglyceride absorption.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1979
Apoproteins of chylomicrons, very low density lipoprotein (VLDL), and a low density + high density fraction secreted by proximal and distal rat small intestine into mesenteric lymph were examined during triglyceride (TG) absorption. Apoprotein output and

Metabolic heterogeneity of post-lipolysis rat mesenteric lymph small chylomicrons produced in vitro.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1983
The study was undertaken to investigate the metabolic rat of post-lipolysis mesenteric lymph small chylomicrons produced in vitro. Small chylomicrons doubly labeled with [3H]cholesterol (more than 70% in cholesteryl esters) and [14C]palmitate-labeled ...
