A physiologically relevant in vitro screening model for predictive assessment of foundation colour shift

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
A novel airbrush‐based in vitro sebum secretion model enables predictive assessment of foundation colour shift. Artificial sebum was applied at a physiologically relevant amount and 3 h post‐foundation application. Our results showed strong alignment with consumer perception and revealed the dominance of drying‐phase dynamics in foundation colour shift.

Reliability of Three Image‐Based Instrumental Color‐Measurement Methods

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To compare the precision of three clinically applicable, image‐based color assessment methods—smartphone imaging, a clinical colorimeter (Optishade), and a digital scanning device (Borea Cobra)—against a benchtop spectrophotometer for measuring CIELAB coordinates and CIEDE2000 (ΔE00) color differences of composite resin shades ...

Effect of Cigarette Smoking on the Surface Roughness, Color, and Translucency of Zirconia Produced by Additive and Subtractive Manufacturing

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the surface roughness, color stability, and translucency of zirconia produced by additive manufacturing (AM) and subtractive manufacturing (SM) after exposure to cigarette smoking. Materials and Methods A total of 60 disc‐shaped specimens were fabricated from 2 methods: AM (INNI Cera BCM W500/1000) and SM (VITA YZ T).

Shade variability and stability in interim and definitive tooth‐colored resin‐based restorative materials: Comparing manufacturer‐claimed shades to a universal shade guide

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the shade variability and stability of interim and definitive tooth‐colored restorative materials by comparing manufacturer‐claimed shades to a universal shade guide before and after thermocycling. Materials and Methods Eight commercially available tooth‐colored restorative materials were tested, including conventional ...
