Data‐Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry in Tumor Classification and Cancer Biomarker Research

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Cancer treatment is far from optimal also because current classification systems do not reflect the complex molecular status of the tumor and its phenotype in sufficient detail. To construct molecular tumor classifiers, omics tools provide complex molecular data reflecting many aspects from genotype to phenotype.

Non‐Histone Lactylation: A New Frontier in Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Reperfusion therapy is the mainstay of treatment for ischemic stroke (IS) but frequently exacerbates secondary injury. Following cerebral ischemia and hypoxia, lactate accumulates markedly. Traditionally regarded as a metabolic byproduct, lactate has gained new significance with the discovery of protein lactylation. In addition to experimental

Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into colorectal cancer reporting

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning (DL) are transforming cancer research and clinical care, with histopathology playing a central role in this transformation. In colorectal cancer (CRC), the second leading cause of cancer mortality world‐wide, multimodal and vision‐language models (VLMs) hold particular promise for enhancing the ...

Cyclin d1 induces chromosomal instability. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We developed mouse model systems to investigate the potential for cyclin D1 to induce CIN in vivo. In a mammary gland specific Tet-inducible model the acute expression profile regulated by cyclin D1 after 7 days was enriched in genes that rank highly ...

Mesoscale and microphysical processes leading to extreme hourly rainfall prior to the merger of two mesoscale convective systems in Central China

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Short‐term extreme rainfall can be produced by the variation of low‐level warm moist airflow during mesoscale convective systems (MCSs) approaching another. The cold outflow of the rapidly moving MCS intensifies the warm moist airflow in front, enhancing the convergence and ascending motion in the quasi‐stationary MCS.

An Oxygen‐Scavenger Sulfide Coating Enabling Long‐Term Stable Nickel‐Rich Cathodes

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
ZrS2 as a novel coating can scavenge oxygen released from NMC lattices while converting to Zr(SO4)2. In return, such a sulfide‐sulfate conversion results in many benefits leading to high‐performance NMC cathodes. Abstract Oxygen release is a major issue associated with layer‐structured metal oxide cathodes in lithium batteries, which can further cause ...

Time‐Domain Computation of Propagation Characteristics of Partial Discharge in Cross‐Linked Polyethylene High‐Voltage Cable Incorporating Modified Frequency‐Dependent Parameters

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The propagation characteristics of partial discharge (PD) in cables impact PD detection sensitivity, defect localisation accuracy and defect severity evaluation. Currently, the effects of semiconducting materials' frequency‐dependent properties and corrugated aluminium sheath structures on PD signal propagation in high‐voltage (HV) cables ...
