Inspired by the prolactin secretion profile under normal physiological conditions, biomimetic prolactin‐releasing microneedles are designed. Under the control of near infrared (NIR), these responsive microneedles facilitate pulsed release of prolactin to inhibit fatty liver formation.

Diel pattern of circadian clock and storage protein gene expression in leaves and during seed filling in cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) [PDF]
Background Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) is an important source of protein supply for animal and human nutrition. The major storage globulins VICILIN and LEGUMIN (LEG) are synthesized from several genes including LEGA, LEGB, LEGJ and CVC (CONVICILIN).

Structural Basis of GABAB Receptor Activation during Evolution
This study explores the structural and functional mechanisms of the drosophila GABAB receptor, a key role in neurotransmission. Using cryo‐EM, the research reveals how the receptor's activation differs from its human counterpart, highlighting unique evolutionary features.

Circatidal and Circadian Rhythms of Locomotion in Limulus polyphemus [PDF]
The nocturnal increases in the sensitivity of the lateral eye of Limulus polyphemus, the species of horseshoe crab found along the Atlantic coast, have been firmly established as being controlled by an endogenous circadian clock (1,2,3) located in the ...

A Colorful Model of the Circadian Clock [PDF]
The migration of the colorful monarch butterfly provides biologists with a unique model system with which to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying a sophisticated circadian clock. The monarch circadian clock is involved in the induction of the migratory state and navigation over long distances, using the sun as a compass.

ABSTRACT Patients with Turner Syndrome (TS) and those exposed to high concentrations of glucocorticoids have a number of characteristics in common, including an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Pediatric TS patients underwent studies of salivary cortisol (SC) and cortisone (SCn), body composition, continuous glucose monitoring, vascular ...

Phosphorylation of Phosphoenolpyruvate Carboxylase Is Essential for Maximal and Sustained Dark CO2 Fixation and Core Circadian Clock Operation in the Obligate Crassulacean Acid Metabolism Species Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi [PDF]
Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PPC; EC 4.1.1.31) catalyzes primary nocturnal CO2 fixation in Crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) species. CAM PPC is regulated posttranslationally by a circadian clock-controlled protein kinase called phosphoenolpyruvate ...

Abstract Hibernation induces significant molecular and cellular adaptations in the retina to maintain function under reduced metabolic conditions. This study aimed to investigate the expression of neuronal, synaptic, and glial markers in the retina of Spermophilus xanthoprymnus during pre‐hibernation and hibernation periods using immunohistochemical ...

Enhancing circadian clock function in cancer cells inhibits tumor growth
BackgroundCircadian clocks control cell cycle factors, and circadian disruption promotes cancer. To address whether enhancing circadian rhythmicity in tumor cells affects cell cycle progression and reduces proliferation, we compared growth and cell cycle
