DEC1 and DEC2 Crosstalk between Circadian Rhythm and Tumor Progression

open access: yesJournal of Cancer, 2016
Clock genes, major regulators of circadian rhythm, are involved in tumor progression. We have shown that clock genes basic helix-loop-helix (BHLH) transcription factors, differentiated embryonic chondrocyte gene 1 (DEC1/BHLHE40/Sharp2/Stra13) and DEC2 ...

Evaluation of QT Liability for PF‐05251749 in the Presence of Potential Circadian Rhythm Modification

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology, 2020
PF‐05251749 is a dual inhibitor of casein kinase 1 δ/ε, key regulators of circadian rhythm. As a result of its mechanism of action, PF‐05251749 may also change the heart rate corrected QT (QTc) circadian rhythm, which may confound detection of drug ...

Cardiovascular Disease Meets Cancer: Exploring the Epidemiology in China and Homotherapy Targeting Intersectional Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cancer are leading causes of death worldwide, with overlapping risk factors and pathophysiological mechanisms. This review explores shared pathways, including metabolic dysregulation, chronic inflammation, and gut microbiome alterations, highlighting dual‐benefit strategies such as lifestyle modifications and repurposed

Research progress on correlation between circadian rhythm disturbance and work-related musculoskeletal disorders

open access: yes环境与职业医学
Circadian rhythm refers to the 24-hour periodic changes in behavior, physiology, and molecular processes in the human body. Disruptions to the circadian rhythm not only affect mental health but are also associated with various metabolic disorders ...

Krüppel-like factor 7 deficiency causes autistic-like behavior in mice via regulating Clock gene

open access: yesCell & Bioscience, 2022
Background Krüppel-like factor 7 (klf7), a transcription factor in the nervous system to regulate cell proliferation and differentiation, has been recently identified as a causal gene for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), but the mechanism behind remains ...

Implications of Circadian Rhythm in Dopamine and Mood Regulation

open access: yesMolecules and Cells, 2017
Mammalian physiology and behavior are regulated by an internal time-keeping system, referred to as circadian rhythm. The circadian timing system has a hierarchical organization composed of the master clock in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) and local ...

Parvalbumin Interneuron‐Dependent Hippocampal Neurogenesis Evoked by Prolonged Rhythmic Light Flicker

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that prolonged rhythmic 40 Hz light flicker enhances spatial learning by stimulating PV interneuron‐dependent neurogenesis. The light flicker selectively activates PV interneurons, which enhances GABAergic support for the integration of immature neurons in the adult dentate gyrus.

The influence of timeshift on ciradian rhythm of sensitivity to X-irradiation in mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
For two groups of male C3H mice an eastbound transmeridional flight was simulated by inducing a time shift of the L:D schedule of 8 hr. The assumed flight brought about a maxima) reduction of the daily light and dark span, respectively.

Circadian Rhythm Shapes the Gut Microbiota Affecting Host Radiosensitivity

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2016
Modern lifestyles, such as shift work, nocturnal social activities, and jet lag, disturb the circadian rhythm. The interaction between mammals and the co-evolved intestinal microbiota modulates host physiopathological processes.

Circadian Rhythms in Plants [PDF]

open access: yesCold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology, 2019
The circadian oscillator is a complex network of interconnected feedback loops that regulates a wide range of physiological processes. Indeed, variation in clock genes has been implicated in an array of plant environmental adaptations, including growth regulation, photoperiodic control of flowering, and responses to abiotic and biotic stress.
