On the modified circular restricted three-body problem with variable mass

New Astronomy, 2021
Abstract In the present work, we shall show an exhaustive numerical analysis of the dynamical behavior of the test particle in the modified restricted three-body problem with variable mass in which the extra effect of the three-body interaction is also taken into account.

The evolution of the motion of a viscoealstic sphere in the restricted circular three-body problem

Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 2000
The paper deals with a restricted circular three-body problem. Two material points \(M_1\) and \(M_2\) with unit mass move in prescribed circular orbits in the same plane with a third body of small mass which is spherical, symmetric and deformable. The third body rotates around the normal to the plane of motion.

Stability of motion of the restricted circular and charged three-body problem

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1989
Stability is applied to characterize type of motion in which the moving body is confined to certain limited regions and in this sense we may say that the motion of the body in question is stable. This method has been used in the past chiefly in connection with the classical restricted problem of three bodies.

Visualizing solutions of the circular restricted three-body problem

2009
The stability of a satellite near the Lagrange points is studied in a Circular Restricted Three-Body Problem (CR3BP). The Runge Kutta method is used to trace out the orbital path of the satellite over a period of time. Various initial positions near the Lagrange points and velocities are used to produce various paths the satellite can take. The primary

On the optimal control of the circular restricted three body problem

2011
The context of this work is space mechanics. More precisely, we aim at computing low thrust transfers in the Earth-Moon system modeled by the circular restricted three-body problem. The goal is to calculate the optimal steering of the spacecraft engine with respect to two optimization criteria: Final time and fuel consumption. The contributions of this

The dumb-bell’s restricted, photogravitational, circular three-body problem

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008
We study the dumb‐bell’s planar motion in the frame of the photogravitational restricted three body problem. The main topic of this paper is the connection between the translation and the spin motion of the dumb‐bell, under the action of a photogravitational field generated by a binary system.

Robe’s circular restricted three-body problem with zonal harmonics

Astrophysics and Space Science, 2014
This paper studies the motion of an infinitesimal mass in the framework of Robe’s circular restricted three-body problem in two cases; the first case is when the hydrostatic equilibrium figure of the first primary is an oblate spheroid, the shape of the second primary is considered as an oblate spheroid with oblateness coefficients up to the second ...

Capture Efficiency Analysis in the Circular Restricted Three-body Problem

Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics
Abstract Temporary capture efficiency is studied in the framework of the circular restricted three-body problem in two steps. First, a non-uniform distribution of test particles around the secondary’s orbit is obtained by fully accounting the secondary’s gravitational influence. Second, the capture efficiency is computed based on the non-
