A bifurcated circular waveguide problem [PDF]

open access: yesIMA Journal of Applied Mathematics, 1995
Summary: A rigorous and exact solution is obtained for the problem of the radiation of sound from a semi-infinite rigid duct inserted axially into a larger acoustically lined tube of infinite length. The solution to this problem is obtained by the Wiener-Hopf technique.

Fabrication of High‐Density Multimodal Neural Probes Based on Heterogeneously Integrated CMOS

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A chiplet‐based methodology democratizes active neural probe development on standard bulk CMOS services. This yields the first probe combining high‐density electrophysiology (416 electrodes) with calcium imaging (832 photodiodes) and complete on‐chip signal processing across 13 shanks.

Guided Electromagnetic Waves Propagating in a Two-Layer Cylindrical Dielectric Waveguide with Inhomogeneous Nonlinear Permittivity

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2015
The paper focuses on the problem of monochromatic electromagnetic TM wave propagation in a two-layer circular cylindrical dielectric waveguide. The space outside the waveguide is filled with isotropic medium having constant permittivity.

Reconfigurable Spoof Plasmonic Skyrmion Electronics for Deformation‐Invariant Multimode Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A flexible multimode sensor based on capacitively loaded spoof plasmonic skyrmions enables deformation‐invariant dielectric sensing with ultra‐compact size and high Q‐factor. Near‐equidistant resonances remain stable under shape change and bending, while capacitor loading improves bending robustness and multimode sensitivity, highlighting strong ...

High‐Power Terahertz Emission from Picosecond Nano‐Plasma Switching Driven by Secondary Electron Emission Avalanche

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nano‐plasma device enables watt‐level on‐chip THz generation through picosecond switching triggered by secondary electron emission avalanche. An ultra‐dense electron sheet initiates nano‐plasma formation within a ∼100 nm gap, driving rapid energy release into an integrated resonator.

Breaking the Bottleneck in Limit of Detection of Surface Refractive Index Sensing by Harnessing Meta‐Waveguide Microring Resonators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mode splitting in meta‐waveguide microring resonators (MWMRs) effectively suppresses baseline drift and measurement noise while maintaining high refractive‐index sensitivity. This reflection‐induced mode splitting strategy enables quantitative detection of ultra‐weak surface perturbations and establishes MWMRs as a robust, drift‐immune platform for ...

Helical Electron Beam Micro‐Bunching by High‐Order Modes in a Micro‐Plasma Waveguide

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electron acceleration by a high‐power Laguerre‐Gaussian pulse in a micro‐plasma waveguide is investigated. When the incident laser travels in the waveguide, electrons on the wall are extracted into the vacuum core and accelerated by the longitudinal field of the waveguide mode.
