Microenvironment crosstalk and immune evasion of circulating tumor cells: From mechanism to clinical significance

open access: yesChinese Medical Journal
. Circulating tumor cells (CTCs), shed from the primary malignancies, are regarded as the “seeds” of tumor metastasis. They employ sophisticated strategies to evade immune detection during blood circulation by engaging with various blood components ...

Ursodeoxycholic Acid Reduces Angiotensin‐Converting Enzyme 2 Activity and Suppresses Cytokine Storm Syndrome in Patients With Coronavirus Disease 2019

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
SARS‐CoV‐2 infection causes COVID‐19 and stimulates immune cells, such as dendritic cells, monocytes, and macrophages, to increase levels of many cytokines. Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) inhibits farnesoid X receptor (FXR), resulting in a decrease in the activity of angiotensin‐converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), the main receptor on the membrane for SARS‐CoV‐2.

The isolation and characterization of circulating tumor cells from head and neck cancer patient blood samples using spiral microfluidic technology

open access: yes, 2019
Metastasis is responsible for 90% of cancer-related deaths. The study of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) enables the study of the units of disease responsible for the process of metastasis.
