IMPACT ОF TARGETED THERAPY WITH VARIOUS TYPES ОF SOLUTIONS ON RENAL FUNCTIONS IN THE PATIENTS UNDERGOING CARDIAC SURGERY

open access: yesВестник анестезиологии и реаниматологии, 2017
The article describes the impact of the targeted therapy with colloid and crystalloid infusion solutions on renal function and fluid balance during the surgery and early post-surgery period in the patients who underwent aortocoronary bypass under cardio ...

Dynamics of the Thermohaline Circulation under Wind forcing

open access: yes, 2001
The ocean thermohaline circulation, also called meridional overturning circulation, is caused by water density contrasts. This circulation has large capacity of carrying heat around the globe and it thus affects the energy budget and further affects the ...

Southern Annular Mode response to volcanic eruptions: implications for ice core proxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Large tropical volcanic eruptions have been observed to have a significant influence on the large-scale circulation patterns of the Northern Hemisphere, through mechanisms related to the radiative effects of the sulfate aerosols resulting from the ...

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Outcomes of the Ross Procedure in the Pediatric Population [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biomedicine, 2015
The Ross procedure (RP) is considered by many authors as the best option for aortic valve replacement in young children and adolescents. This paper presents the results of the immediate and late postoperative period (more than 5 years) after the RP among

CEREBRAL OXYMETRY IN HIGH RISK CARDIAC SURGERY: APPLICABILITY AND PROTOCOL OF THE CLINICAL TRIAL

open access: yesВестник анестезиологии и реаниматологии, 2018
Cerebral oxymetry is one of the monitoring techniques aimed at the early detection of changes in the brain state. Currently it is being actively introduced into practice, management algorithms for cerebral oxygenation disorders are being developed basing

Breaking Kelvin: Circulation conservation and vortex breakup in MHD at low Magnetic Prandtl Number

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper we examine the role of weak magnetic fields in breaking Kelvin's circulation theorem and in vortex breakup in two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics for the physically important case of a low magnetic Prandtl number (low $Pm$) fluid.

Spring Changeover of the Middle Atmosphere Circulation Compared with Rocket Wind Data up to 80 Km [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
The middle atmosphere circulation is governed by two seasonal basic states in winter and summer, twice a year separated by relatively shortlived reversal periods.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...
