Determination of piezo-resistive coefficient π44 in p-type silicon by comparing simulation and measurement of pressure sensors

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
The piezo-resistive coefficient π44 is reported for the case of single crystalline p-type silicon. By comparing the measured sensitivity of pressure sensors with the simulated sensitivity of these pressure sensors, we are able to extract π44 since this ...

Automatically detecting neighbourhood constraint interactions using comet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The major benet of using events as the basis for our detection system is the clean separation between the neighbourhoods and detector which we can achieve. The detector simply iterates over a set of Neighbourhood objects and checks each for interactions.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Qualitative Insights Into Cancel Culture Prevention, Its Potential Individual Impacts, and How to Explore them

open access: yesHuman Behavior and Emerging Technologies
The concept of cancel culture has gained traction over the past 10 years, with the continuous rise of social media and online platforms. The limited literature on this topic tends to focus on possible definitions and characteristics. However, we have yet

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Higher-order CIS codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We introduce {\bf complementary information set codes} of higher-order. A binary linear code of length $tk$ and dimension $k$ is called a complementary information set code of order $t$ ($t$-CIS code for short) if it has $t$ pairwise disjoint information

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
