Postoperative sore throat: a systematic review*
Summary Introduction Postoperative sore throat is a common complaint with an incidence of up to 62%. While anaesthetists often perceive this as a minor and self‐limiting complication, postoperative sore throat is one of the leading causes of postoperative anaesthesia‐related discomfort.

Recovery Profile of Atracurium versus Cisatracurium [PDF]
Introduction: Atracurium and cisatracurium are promising drugs offering a predictable recovery due to non-organ dependent elimination. However, due to the variability in metabolism and narrow therapeutic window, monitoring of neuromuscular functions has ...

Comparison of Cisatracurium and Atracurium on Intubating Conditions and Haemodynamic Responses during Laryngoscopy in Patients Undergoing General Anaesthesia: A Randomised Double-blind Clinical Study [PDF]
Introduction: General anaesthesia is commonly facilitated by endotracheal intubation, for which Neuromuscular Blocking Agents (NMBA) are used to achieve optimal intubating conditions and haemodynamic stability.

ABSTRACT Background Respiratory arrest during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in pediatric cardiac surgery risks lung dysfunction including derecruitment, atelectasis, and inflammation. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and lung‐protective ventilation (LPV) during aortic cross‐clamping show inconsistent results in mitigating these risks.

Hemodynamic Effects of Atracurium and Cisatracurium and the Use of Diphenhydramine and Cimetidine
SummaryBackground and objectivesSince atracurium can cause hypotension in humans, the hemodynamic effects of atracurium and cisatracurium as well as the hemodynamic protection of diphenhydramine and cimetidine were investigated in rats.Methods1) Wistar ...

Background Interventional neuroradiology (INR) is a minimally invasive procedure that is often performed under general anesthesia. A potential complication, emergence agitation (EA), can hinder immediate and accurate postoperative neurological assessments. Sevoflurane and propofol are common anesthetics used for these procedures.

Background Patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) undergoing minimally invasive modified Morrow procedure may be vulnerable to postoperative pulmonary dysfunction. During cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), lung‐protective ventilation has been proposed, but the optimal inspired oxygen concentration under this strategy remains unclear ...
