The production of alcohol free beers with citric acid cycle defect.

open access: yesKvasný průmysl, 2002
For production of alcohol free beer was used  Saccharomyces cerevisiae with citric acid cycle defect. The ethanol concentration of all beers, produced in charge or continuos process by means of traditional or immobilised yeast was negligible ...

Experimental evidence for excess entropy discontinuities in glass-forming solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Glass transition temperatures T_g are investigated in aqueous binary and multi-component solutions consisting of citric acid, calcium nitrate (Ca(NO_3)_2), malonic acid, raffinose, and ammonium bisulfate (NH_4HSO_4) using a differential scanning ...

Adhesive Double‐Network Granular Organogel E‐Skin

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We introduce a double‐network granular organogel adhesive for electronic skin, overcoming adhesion and strength trade‐offs. It provides reversible, robust bonding and ionic conductivity, enabling wearable and soft robotic e‐skin. Thanks to the e‐skin adhesive, a soft robotic trunk can recognize touch, temperature, humidity, and acidity.

The influence of microgravity on invasive growth in Saccharomyces cerevisiae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This study investigates the effects of microgravity on colony growth and the morphological transition from single cells to short invasive filaments in the model eukaryotic organism Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Two-dimensional spreading of the yeast colonies

Versatile Gasochromic Hydrogen Detection via Supraparticle‐Based Applied Composite Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Silica‐platinum‐resazurin supraparticles are embedded into PMMA to form suprabeads and thin films. The thereby obtained indicators change color from purple to pink to colorless on hydrogen exposure. The indicator systems are tested under various environmental conditions, and their performance is related to their microscopically visualized structure ...

Metabolomic Profiling Reveals Dynamic Changes in Organic Acids During Zaolajiao Fermentation: Correlation with Physicochemical Properties and CAZymes

open access: yesFermentation
Zaolajiao (ZLJ) is a traditional national specialty fermented condiment in Guizhou, and organic acid is one of its main flavor substances. In the study, we used metabolomics and multivariate analysis to identify differential organic acids (DOAs) during ...

Biosynthesis of food constituents: Amino acids: 1. The glutamic acid and aspartic acid groups - a review

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2006
This review article gives a survey of principal pathways that lead to the biosynthesis of the proteinogenic amino acids of the glutamic acid group (glutamic acid, glutamine, proline, arginine) and aspartic acid group (aspartic acid, asparagine, threonine,

In Vivo Estimates of Liver Metabolic Flux Assessed by 13C-Propionate and 13C-Lactate Are Impacted by Tracer Recycling and Equilibrium Assumptions

open access: yesCell Reports, 2020
Summary: Isotope-based assessment of metabolic flux is achieved through a judicious balance of measurements and assumptions. Recent publications debate the validity of key assumptions used to model stable isotope labeling of liver metabolism in vivo ...

Multiomics Analyses Reveal an Essential Role of Tryptophan in Treatment of csDMARDs in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease characterized by joint inflammation. Approximately 50% of patients show insufficient response to traditional synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs. This study aims to elucidate differential molecular profiles of the mechanisms underlying drug responses through multi‐omics strategy.
