Ardisia solanacea Roxb. was comparable to rough lemon, Citrus jambhiri Lush., in the number of eggs of citrus blackflies, Aleurocanthus woglumi Ashby, per plant. Survival of citrus blackflies was greater (P < 0.05) on A. solanacea than on C. jambhiri. Citrus whiteflies, Dialeurodes citri (Ashmead), oviposited on C. jambhiri but not on A.

The isolation of rough lemon (Citrus jambhiri Lush) rind essential oil has been done by using hydrodistillation method and paper disk diffusion test for antibacterial activity test. 2.3 gram (1.51%) of essential oil was obtained from 450 gram of dried rough lemon rind powder.
