Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

Class field theory for curves over local fields

open access: yes, 2023
We establish a ramified class field theory for smooth projective curves over local fields. As key steps in the proof, we obtain new results in the class field theory for 2-dimensional local fields of positive characteristic, and prove a duality theorem ...

Paramagnetic Rim Lesions Are Associated With Trans‐Synaptic Degeneration of the Visual Pathway in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.

Class Field Theory and the Main Theorem of Complex Multiplication

open access: yes, 2023
We give an exposition of the results of class field theory and the theory of elliptic curves with complex multiplication. We begin by reviewing the basic number theoretic and algebraic concepts needed to state the main theorems of local and global class ...

The Role of Calcitonin Gene‐Related Peptide in High‐Altitude Headache: A Prospective Field Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐altitude headache (HAH) is a common neurological condition associated with rapid ascent to high altitude. The pathophysiological mechanisms underlying HAH remain incompletely understood. Calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide implicated in migraine pathophysiology, may play a key role in the pathophysiology of ...

Explicit class field theory for global function fields

open access: yesJournal of Number Theory, 2013
Let F be a global function field and let F^ab be its maximal abelian extension. Following an approach of D.Hayes, we shall construct a continuous homomorphism ρ: Gal(F^ab/F) \to C_F, where C_F is the idele class group of F. Using class field theory, we shall show that our ρis an isomorphism of topological groups whose inverse is the Artin map of F.

Memory and Resting‐State Connectivity in Acute Transient Global Amnesia: A Case–Control fMRI Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a striking model of isolated amnesia. While hippocampal lesions are well described, the network‐level mechanisms and the precise neuropsychological profile remain debated. Our objective was thus to characterize functional and neuropsychological correlates of acute TGA and their ...

Class field theory and applications

open access: yes, 2012

The symplectic geometry of p-form gauge fields

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We formulate interacting antisymmetric tensor gauge theory in a configuration space consisting of a pair of dual field strengths which has a natural symplectic structure. The field equations are formulated as the intersection of a pair of submanifolds of
