Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 1970Abstract The 60–80% ammonium sulfate fraction of Claviceps purpurea PRL 1980 catalyzed the conversion of agroclavine to elymoclavine. The reaction required NADPH. EDTA and cyanide inhibited the reaction. Agroclavine increased the rate of oxidation of NADPH. The increase in rate was 4.8 μmoles NADPH per h mg protein at 25° and pH 7.0.
