Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

A modified method for clearing, staining and mounting plant-inhabiting mites

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Entomology, 2008
A modified method for clearing, staining and mounting plant-inhabiting mites is proposed. With this method, all mites can be cleared with a single agent and mounted in a single medium.

Recent Advances on Citrus yellow vein clearing virus in Citrus

open access: yesHorticultural Plant Journal, 2020
Citrus yellow vein clearing virus (CYVCV) is the causal agent of yellow vein clearing disease, a significant and devastating disease of most citrus species including lemon and sour orange.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

High-resolution ultramicroscopy of the developing and adult nervous system in optically cleared Drosophila melanogaster

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Optical aberrations due to pigments in the eye and cuticle have undermined the ability for high-resolution imaging of the intact Drosophila. Here, the authors report an improved tissue-clearing agent, light-sheet optics and a multi-view combining ...

Coordinated scheduling model of power system with active distribution networks based on multi-agent system

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2017
With the large-scale development of distributed generations (DGs) and the connection into the main grid of active distribution networks (ADNs), traditional centralized dispatch of power system has encountered enormous challenge.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Small RNA deep sequencing reveals full-length genome of Citrus yellow vein clearing virus in Chongqing, China

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2017
To identity the potential pathogen associated with the yellow vein clearing symptom on lemon trees, the profiles of virus-derived small interfering RNAs from citrus samples were obtained and analyzed by deep sequencing method in this study.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
