Protein differences in tau mutant hamsters: candidate clock proteins
Molecular Brain Research, 1992In the tau mutant hamster, the period of the circadian rhythm is shortened from about 24 h to about 22 h in heterozygotes and to about 20 h in homozygotes. Understanding the biochemical basis of the period changes in the tau mutant may elucidate the regulation of the vertebrate pacemaker.

THE CROSSTALK BETWEEN PHYSIOLOGY AND CIRCADIAN CLOCK PROTEINS
Chronobiology International, 2009In mammals, many physiological processes present diurnal variations, and most of these rhythms persist even in absence of environmental timing cues. These endogenous circadian rhythms are generated by intracellular timing mechanisms termed circadian clocks.

Cell-permeable Circadian Clock Proteins
2002Abstract : Humans and most other organisms manifest circadian (daily) rhythms that are controlled by an endogenous biochemical oscillator. These 'biological clocks' are important to human physiology. For example, psychiatric and medical studies have shown that circadian rhythmicity is involved in some forms of depressive illness, 'jet lag', drug ...
