A lack of close binaries among hot horizontal branch stars in globular clusters. II. NGC\,2808
Models based on their binary origin have been very successful in reproducing the properties of field subdwarf-B stars, but the observations of their analogues in globular clusters has posed new problems, while the discovery of multiple populations ...

ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare disorder characterized by fluctuating muscle weakness with potential life‐threatening crises. Timely interventions may be delayed by limited access to care and fragmented documentation. Our objective was to develop predictive algorithms for MG deterioration using multimodal telemedicine data ...

CLOSE-IN STELLAR COMPANIONS IN CLOSE BINARY STARS
Close binary stars are so close that one component has an effect on the evolution of the other. But how do they form and evolve? This is an unsolved problem. One speculation is that the binary is a part of a hierarchical triple and its orbit shrinks due to interaction with the third component.

ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.

Binary central stars of planetary nebulae [PDF]
This paper reviews our knowledge on binary central stars of planetary nebulae and presents some personal opinions regarding their evolution. Three types of interactions are distinguished: type I, where the binary companion induces the mass loss; type II,

Patterns of Postictal Abnormalities in Relation to Status Epilepticus in Adults
ABSTRACT Objective Abnormalities on peri‐ictal diffusion‐weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI‐PMAs) are well‐established for patients with status epilepticus (SE), but knowledge on patterns of DWI‐PMAs and their prognostic impact is sparse. Methods This systematic review and individual participant data meta‐analysis included observational studies ...

Meningovascular Inflammation in Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy‐Related Cortical Superficial Siderosis
ABSTRACT The role of inflammation in cortical superficial siderosis (cSS), a marker of cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) linked to high hemorrhage risk, is unclear. We examined 15 patients with cSS using 3 T post‐contrast vessel wall MRI (VWI) and CSF analysis.

Rapid Binary Mass Transfer: Circumbinary Outflows and Angular Momentum Losses
High rates of stable mass transfer likely occur for some binary star systems, but the resulting flow of mass and angular momentum (AM) is unclear. We perform hydrodynamical simulations of a polytropic donor star and a point-mass secondary to determine ...
