Antibiotic Susceptibility Profiles and Determinants of Septic Abortion Among Women Admitted for Abortion Care in Ugandan Satellite Teaching Hospitals: A Two‐Center Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Septic abortion remains a major cause of maternal morbidity and mortality in low‐ and middle‐income countries. This study aimed to determine the prevalence, antibiotic susceptibility profiles, and determinants of septic abortion among women admitted for abortion care in Ugandan satellite teaching hospitals. Methods This two‐

Contribution of Host Genetics and Maternal Inflammatory Bowel Disease to Fecal Calprotectin and Microbiota Composition During Early Life

open access: yesJCC Plus, Volume 1, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Parental diagnosis is one of the strongest predictors of developing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in offspring. However, the contribution of genetic heritability versus exposure to the perinatal environment remains poorly understood.

Survey on Faecal Microbiota Transplantation and Probiotic Use in Equine Practice in France and Belgium

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
A survey of 96 equine veterinarians in France and Belgium revealed widespread therapeutic use of probiotics (82.1%) and faecal microbiota transplantation (76.0%). Knowledge gaps persisted, with 16.7% misidentifying non‐probiotic products and only 22.5% performing donor testing before FMT.

Molecular identification of different toxinogenic strains of Clostridium perfringens and histo-pathological observations of camels died of per-acute entero-toxaemia

open access: yesHeliyon
Enterotoxaemia is a severe disease caused by Clostridium perfringens and render high mortality and huge economic losses in livestock. However, scanty information and only few cases are reported about the presence and patho-physiology of enterotoxaemia in

Evaluating Low‐Frequency Ultrasound as a Pretreatment to Improve Ozonation Antimicrobial Efficacy in Urban Wastewater Treatment

open access: yesWater Environment Research, Volume 98, Issue 3, March 2026.
In urban wastewater contaminated with Salmonella enterica, Escherichia coli, Enterococcus faecium, and Pseudomonas fluorescens, a low‐frequency ultrasound pretreatment enhanced the antimicrobial effectiveness of ozonation. Additionally, pretreatment led to energy and cost savings compared to ozonation alone, highlighting the potential of this ...
