Advanced Materials for Biologics Delivery to Brain Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Material innovation is central to unlocking the therapeutic potential of biologics against many central nervous system diseases, including brain cancer. By engineering carriers with controlled transport, targeting, and release properties, advanced materials can overcome the blood–brain barrier and tumor microenvironment, improving the delivery of ...

Charge‐Reversed Lipid Nanoparticles Enable Encapsulation of Pt2L4 Nanocages for In vivo Anti‐Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Charge‐reversed lipid nanoparticles (revLNPs) enable efficient encapsulation and delivery of cationic Pt2L4 nanocages. Encapsulation preserves potent anticancer activity while improving circulation, reducing vascular leakage, and promoting favorable biodistribution in vivo.

Graphene Layers as Functional Biomaterials. From Fabrication and Characterization to Biological Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Graphene layers are fabricated on Cu foil and transferred onto glass substrates to form double‐ and multi‐layer G‐glass. Raman spectroscopy confirms structural integrity, while SEM and fluorescence microscopy reveal favorable adhesion and spreading of L‐929 fibroblast cells.

Identification of milk clotting activity from different sources of plant’s proteolytic enzymes / Siti Nursyafiqah Mohammad Zilan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Traditional bovine rennet used for cheese processing was high cost and limited in resource. A study was done to find replacement of the curdling activity of milk using different sources of plant’s proteolytic enzymes which are bromelain enzyme from the ...

Reduction of proteolytic activity of the milk clotting enzyme from Rhizopus oligosporus.

open access: yes, 1978
Milk clotting and proteolytic activities of the (i) crude enzyme preparation of R. oligosporus 1104 were compared with the (ii) commercially used coagulants for cheese manufacture. Proteolytic activity of (i) was higher than that of (ii).

Activated clotting factors in factor IX concentrates [PDF]

open access: yesBlood, 1979
The precise quantitation of activated factors in human factor IX concentrates has been accomplished with the use of recently developed, specific assays for factors IXa, Xa, and thrombin. The assay for factor IXa, which measures the initial rate of 3H-factor-X activation, was shown to be specific for factor IXa in the concentrates.

3D‐Printed Corneal Substitutes: Materials, Fabrication, and Preclinical Progress

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Successful clinical translation of 3D‐printed corneal substitutes relies on the interplay between the bioink properties, cellular component, and the fabrication process. These factors influence the critical properties of the construct, including optical transparency, mechanical stability, suture retention, that ultimately govern long‐term stromal ...
