Interaction of hirudin with thrombin: identification of a minimal binding domain of hirudin that inhibits clotting activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
[[abstract]]Hirudin, isolated from the European leech Hirudo medicinalis, is a potent inhibitor of thrombin, forming an almost irreversible thrombin-hirudin complex.

Cell immobilization for enhanced milk clotting enzyme production from Bacillus amyloliquefacien and cheese quality

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories
Background Milk clotting enzymes, essential for milk coagulation in cheese production, are obtained from the stomach of young ruminants, an expensive and limited source. This study was accomplished by finding a suitable alternative.

Integrative Multi‐Omics Analysis Reveals a Mitochondrial–Immune Axis Associated With Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Response in High‐Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrative multi‐omics analysis delineates a mitochondrial–immune axis governing neoadjuvant chemotherapy response in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Immune‐active tumors exhibit enhanced B‐cell infiltration and favorable sensitivity, whereas metabolically rewired tumors display oxidative phosphorylation dependency and resistance.

Lactiplantibacillus Plantarum GUANKE Alleviates Allergic Asthma by Restricting Monocyte‐to‐DC Differentiation Via Microbiota‐Associated IAA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum GUANKE remodels the indigenous gut microbiota and is associated with microbiota‐dependent restoration of circulating IAA. IAA treatment attenuates JAK3‐STAT3 and Jag1‐Notch4‐Hey1 signaling and reduces CX3CR1+Ly6C− monocytic precursor generation and pulmonary CD11b+ DC accumulation, together with reduced Th2 inflammation ...

A novel natural hirudin facilitated anti-clotting polylactide membrane via hydrogen bonding interaction

open access: yes, 2017
Different from intensively used anticoagulant heparin, hirudin as a representative of natural bio-molecular inhibitors can form specific hirudin-thrombin complex and function as a serine proteinase to efficiently prevent blood coagulation with less ...

Anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities of Lippia nodiflora and its effect on blood clotting time

open access: yesمجلة علوم ذي قار, 2019
Aqueous extract of Lippia nodiflora possessed anti-inflammatory activity in Carrageenan induced mice paw edema in both doses 100 and 200 mg /kg bw (P< 0.01). However, the ethanolic extracts didn’t induced anti-inflammatory effects in both doses. Aqueous
