Development of Economic Water Usage Sensor and Cyber-Physical Systems Co-Simulation Platform for Home Energy Saving [PDF]
In this thesis, two Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) approaches were considered to reduce residential building energy consumption. First, a flow sensor was developed for residential gas and electric storage water heaters.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Checking SysML Models for Co-simulation
Cyber-physical systems (CPSs) are often treated modularly to tackle both complexity and heterogeneity; and their validation may be done modularly by co-simulation: the coupling of the individual subsystem simulations. This modular approach underlies the FMI standard.

Behavioural Models for FMI Co-simulations [PDF]
Simulation is a favoured technique for analysis of cyber-physical systems. With their increase in complexity, co-simulation, which involves the coordinated use of heterogeneous models and tools, has become widespread. An industry standard, FMI, has been developed to support orchestration; we provide the first behavioural semantics of FMI.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
