Operating Performance of Pure Electric Loaders with Different Types of Motors Based on Simulation Analysis

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The electrification of loader designs can utilise several power motor types. Hence, this study investigates the operational performance of pure electric-powered loaders matched with three types of motors. Firstly, for the ZL08 loader, it is proposed that

Coupled CFD and FE Thermal Mechanical Simulation of Disc Brake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
yesTo achieve a better solution of disc brake heat transfer problem under heavy duty applications, the accurate prediction of transient field of heat transfer coefficient is significant. Therefore, an appropriate coupling mechanism between flow field and

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Distributed hierarchical control of islanded active distribution networks with dynamic consensus algorithm and adaptive virtual impedance

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
In the event of an upstream grid fault, the Active Distribution Network (ADN) can switch to autonomous operation, coordinating controllable Distributed Generators (DGs) and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) to maintain power supply reliability.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Application of the Waveform Relaxation Technique to the Co-Simulation of Power Converter Controller and Electrical Circuit Models

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we present the co-simulation of a PID class power converter controller and an electrical circuit by means of the waveform relaxation technique.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

HintCO – Hint-based Configuration of Co-simulations

open access: yesProceedings of the 9th International Conference on Simulation and Modeling Methodologies, Technologies and Applications, 2019
Simulation-based analyses of Cyber-Physical Systems are fundamental in industrial design and testing approaches. The utility of analyses relies on the correct configuration of the simulation tools, which can behighly complicated. System engineers can normally judge the results, and either evaluate multiple simulationalgorithms, or change the models ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
