Diode laser overtone spectroscopy of CO2 at 780nm

Overtone absorption lines of 12C^16O^2 have been examined by using a tunable diode laser (TDL) spectrometer in the region around 12770 cm^-1. The spectrometer sources are commercially available double heterostructure InGaAlAs TDLs operating in "free-running" mode, which allowed the detection of the line positions within 0.01 cm^-1.

A tunable diode laser operating in the 4.3 μm region is used to probe a conventional cw CO2 laser discharge. Vibrational populations in the 1000, 0200, 0220, and 0110 levels of CO2 are measured under lasing conditions, i.e., in the presence of intense 10.4 and 9.4 μm fields.

Diode laser measurements of a pulse TEA CO 2 laser linewidth

Abstract A new technique to measure spectral linewidths of pulsed IR lasers is described. The results for the linewidth Γ of a TEA CO 2 laser are presented. The value of Γ =0.013±0.002 cm -1 obtained experimentally is in a good agreement with the results of model calculations.

Comparison of CO2 and high power diode laser (HPDL) cladding
