Diode laser overtone spectroscopy of CO2 at 780nm
Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 2005Overtone absorption lines of 12C^16O^2 have been examined by using a tunable diode laser (TDL) spectrometer in the region around 12770 cm^-1. The spectrometer sources are commercially available double heterostructure InGaAlAs TDLs operating in "free-running" mode, which allowed the detection of the line positions within 0.01 cm^-1.

Dynamics of the CO2 lower laser levels as measured with a tunable diode laser
Applied Physics B Photophysics and Laser Chemistry, 1983A tunable diode laser operating in the 4.3 μm region is used to probe a conventional cw CO2 laser discharge. Vibrational populations in the 1000, 0200, 0220, and 0110 levels of CO2 are measured under lasing conditions, i.e., in the presence of intense 10.4 and 9.4 μm fields.

Diode laser measurements of a pulse TEA CO 2 laser linewidth
SPIE Proceedings, 1991Abstract A new technique to measure spectral linewidths of pulsed IR lasers is described. The results for the linewidth Γ of a TEA CO 2 laser are presented. The value of Γ =0.013±0.002 cm -1 obtained experimentally is in a good agreement with the results of model calculations.

Comparison of CO2 and high power diode laser (HPDL) cladding
ICALEO 2002: 21st International Congress on Laser Materials Processing and Laser Microfabrication, 2002Cobalt based Stellite 21 hardfacing layers produced by coaxial CO2 and off-axis HPDL cladding were compared. Properties studied include the temperature of the workpiece, thickness of the heat affected zone (HAZ), dilution, microstructure, hardness and powder catchment efficiency.
