Backbone switch to abacavir/lamivudine fixed-dose combination: implications for antiretroviral therapy optimization [PDF]
Current guidelines recommend treatment optimization in virologically suppressed patients through switching/ simplification strategies to minimize long-term toxicities and improve adherence. The assessment of inflammation/ coagulation profiles may support

Effects of the Charge-Dipole Interaction on the Coagulation of Fractal Aggregates
A numerical model with broad applications to complex (dusty) plasmas is presented. The self-consistent N-body code allows simulation of the coagulation of fractal aggregates, including the charge-dipole interaction of the clusters due to the spatial ...

CO2‐Responsive Smart Wood Scaffold for Natural Organic Matter Removal without Secondary Pollution
A CO2‐responsive smart wood scaffold is developed for sustainable water purification, achieving efficient natural organic matter (NOM) removal and microbial disinfection without secondary pollution. The CO2‐responsive polymer coating undergoes protonation upon CO2 exposure, enabling strong cation−π interactions with NOM.

The formation of stable clusters of gold nanoparticles with oligonucleotides at different solution conditions is explored. DNA base homogeneity and strand directionality influence the binding with gold nanoparticles leading to interesting clustering behavior that can be relevant for SERS applications.

AbstractThromboembolism, including both venous and arterial events, occurs commonly amongst patients with cancer. The occurrence of thromboembolism has significant consequences for cancer patients, including direct and indirect associations with mortality, morbidity, requirement for long‐term anticoagulant therapy and consumption of healthcare ...

Discrete Coagulation-Fragmentation equations with multiplicative coagulation kernel and constant fragmentation kernel [PDF]
Here, we study a discrete Coagulation-Fragmentation equation with a multiplicative coagulation kernel and a constant fragmentation kernel, which is critical. We apply the discrete Bernstein transform to the original Coagulation-Fragmentation equation to get two new singular Hamilton-Jacobi equations and use viscosity solution methods to analyze them ...

Smoluchowski's coagulation equation: uniqueness, non-uniqueness and a hydrodynamic limit for the stochastic coalescent [PDF]
Sufficient conditions are given for existence and uniqueness in Smoluchowski's coagulation equation, for a wide class of coagulation kernels and initial mass distributions. An example of non-uniqueness is constructed. The stochastic coalescent is shown to converge weakly to the solution of Smoluchowski's equation.

Adjusting Cell‐Surface Interactions Through a Covalent Immobilization of Biomolecules
This review presents an overview of current and emerging immobilization techniques coupled with an in‐depth investigation of the underlying mechanisms governing the activity and stability of covalently immobilized biomolecules. The aim of this study is to serve as a guide for the development of long‐lasting biomedical coatings with versatile biological
