A Survey of Automatic Generation of Source Code Comments: Algorithms and Techniques

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
As an integral part of source code files, code comments help improve program readability and comprehension. However, developers sometimes do not comment their program code adequately due to the incurred extra efforts, lack of relevant knowledge ...

Lightweight Assessment of Test-Case Effectiveness Using Source-Code-Quality Indicators

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, 2019
Test cases are crucial to help developers preventing the introduction of software faults. Unfortunately, not all the tests are properly designed or can effectively capture faults in production code.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Clone Detection and Elimination for Haskell [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Duplicated code is a well known problem in software maintenance and refactoring. Code clones tend to increase program size and several studies have shown that duplicated code makes maintenance and code understanding more complex and time consuming.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
