A fast metaheuristic approach for the planar multiple obnoxious facility location problem

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, EarlyView.
Abstract The multiple obnoxious facility location problem is one of the most studied problems in the literature of the obnoxious facility location problems family. In this work, we propose an alternative algorithmic approach for this problem, based on an efficient metaheuristic procedure over a discretization of the plane based on Voronoi diagrams ...

Conservation and management implications of genetic and geometric scale variation in the ancient fish giant featherback (Chitala lopis)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Giant featherback (Chitala lopis) is an ancient species of freshwater fish considered globally extinct until extant populations were re‐discovered in the Sundaland region of Indonesia in 2022. To improve management of the remaining populations, this study used genomic DNA and landmark‐based geometric morphometric analyses of fish scales to ...

Lymphocystis Disease in Endemic Aotearoa New Zealand Bully (Gobiomorphus cotidianus)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We detected lymphocystis disease virus (LCDV) for the first time in an Aotearoa New Zealand freshwater environment, from an individual common bully, toitoi, Gobiomorphus cotidianus (Eleotridae). Dinah's bully, Gobiomorphus dinae, and Kaharore bully, Gobiomorphus mataraerore, also exhibited gross nodular lesions on the fins but were not sampled.
