Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Spatial modulation and space-time shift keying: optimal performance at a reduced detection complexity [PDF]
—In this paper, we propose a comprehensive reduced-complexity detector both for hard-decision-aided as well as for the soft-decision-assisted Spatial Modulation (SM)/Space-Time Shift Keying (STSK).

On the Average Achievable Rate of QPSK and DQPSK OFDM Over Rapidly Fading Channels
Motivated by recent experimental observations, where differentially coherent detection outperforms coherent detection on certain underwater acoustic channels, we revisit the performance of these two methods with respect to the achievable rate in ...

Simple Noise Mitigation Scheme for Coherent Optical DMT Signal Transmission System
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a noise mitigation scheme for coherent optical discrete multitone (DMT) signal transmission system. The proposed scheme can mitigate the laser phase noise and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) simultaneously ...

We systematically investigate the data analysis methods in terahertz frequency domain spectroscopy (THz-FDS) with coherent detection. We demonstrate that the Hilbert transform method is one of the most appropriate for data processing in THz-FDS.

Early detection and classification of live bacteria using time-lapse coherent imaging and deep learning [PDF]
Early identification of pathogenic bacteria in food, water, and bodily fluids is very important and yet challenging, owing to sample complexities and large sample volumes that need to be rapidly screened.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Blind Joint Soft-Detection Assisted Slow Frequency-Hopping Multicarrier DS-CDMA [PDF]
A novel multiple-access scheme based on slow frequency-hopping multicarrier direct-sequence, code-division multiple access (SFH/MC DS-CDMA) is proposed and investigated, which can be rendered compatible with the existing second-generation narrow-band ...
