Mechanical breakdown of bent silicon nanowires imaged by coherent x-ray diffraction

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
We have developed a method of coherent x-ray diffractive imaging to surmount its inability to image the structure of strongly strained crystals. We used calculated models from finite–element analysis to guide an iterative algorithm to fit experimental ...

Phase-Diverse Coherent Diffractive Imaging: High Sensitivity with Low Dose

open access: yes, 2020
This Letter demonstrates that coherent diffractive imaging (CDI), in combination with phase-diversity methods, provides reliable and artefact free high-resolution images.

Efficient Magnetization Switching Driven by Orbital Torque in Light 3d Transition‐Metal Nitrides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Efficient magnetization switching is demonstrated through orbital torque generated from light 3d transition‐metal nitride. Transition‐metal nitrides are established as effective sources of orbital angular momentum for current‐induced switching, highlighting their potential for low‐power next‐generation orbitronic devices beyond conventional heavy‐metal‐

Ultra-broadband diffractive imaging with unknown probe spectrum

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications
Strict requirement of a coherent spectrum in coherent diffractive imaging (CDI) architectures poses a significant obstacle to achieving efficient photon utilization across the full spectrum. To date, nearly all broadband computational imaging experiments

Simple convergent-nozzle aerosol injector for single-particle diffractive imaging with X-ray free-electron lasers

open access: yesStructural Dynamics, 2015
A major challenge in high-resolution x-ray free-electron laser-based coherent diffractive imaging is the development of aerosol injectors that can efficiently deliver particles to the peak intensity of the focused X-ray beam. Here, we consider the use of

Tabletop extreme ultraviolet reflection mode coherent diffractive imaging of buried structures

open access: yes, 2016
We demonstrate non-invasive, high-resolution non-destructive reflection mode imaging of nanostructures buried beneath 100 nm of visibly opaque aluminum using ptychographic coherent diffractive imaging with 29.1 nm extreme ultraviolet light produced by ...

Modulation of Surface‐Associated Transport in (Bi1‐xSbx)2Te3 via Battery‐ Inspired Solid‐State Iontronic Gating

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Iontronic gating in a battery‐inspired device modulates the relative weight of surface‐associated and bulk‐like transport fingerprints in (Bi1‐xSbx)2Te3, resulting in phenomenological valve‐like transport behavior. The strongest WAL‐associated coherent transport signatures emerge near the transport‐defined carrier compensation regime at ultra‐low gate ...

Orbital Engineering through Strain‐Induced Spin–Orbit–Lattice Coupling in Sr2FeReO6 Double Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Epitaxial strain drives oxygen‐octahedral reconfiguration in Sr2FeReO6 double‐perovskite thin films, inducing orbital‐selective reconstruction of Re 5d states through modified Fe–O–Re hybridization. This coupled lattice–orbital response enables magnetic easy‐axis reversal and a transition from metallic‐like to semiconducting‐like transport.

Coherent diffractive imaging with laboratory EUV sources

open access: yes
Laboratory EUV (extreme ultraviolet) sources can be in future practical and cheaper alternative to the large facilities such as synchotrons. HHG (high harmonic generation) laser sources are getting to be common EUV source for CDI (coherent diffractive ...
