We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

The influence of process parameters on the temperature development in the forming zone [PDF]
Cold metal forming is a fast and economical way of producing a wide range of precise components. Its profitability mainly depends on part quality, process stability and service intervals of tools.

On the Origin of Stellar Masses [PDF]
It has been a longstanding problem to determine, as far as possible, the characteristic masses of stars in terms of fundamental constants; the almost complete invariance of this mass as a function of the star-forming environment suggests that this should

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Numerical Simulation and Experimental Research on Cold Form Tapping Process of Internal Thread [PDF]
During the cold form tapping process of internal thread in high-strength-steel, the effect of bottom-diameter, extrusion speed, friction factor and extrusion times on extrusion temperature and torque have contributed to tap wear, break and manufacturing quality. The process of cold form tapping of internal thread for Q460 high-strength-steel is studied

Decreased Specific Star Formation Rates in AGN Host Galaxies
We investigate the location of an ultra-hard X-ray selected sample of AGN from the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) catalog with respect to the main sequence (MS) of star-forming galaxies using Herschel-based measurements of the star formation rate (SFR)

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Analysis of Forming Behavior in Cold Forging of AISI 1010 Steel Using Artificial Neural Network
Cold forged parts are mainly employed in automotive and aerospace assemblies, and strength plays an essential role in such applications. Backward extrusion is one such process in cold forging for the production of axisymmetrical cup-like parts, which is ...

A thermoviscoplastic model with damage for simultaneous hot/cold forging analysis [PDF]
A constitutive model is presented for simultaneous hot/cold forming processes of steels. The phenomenological material theory is based on an enhanced rheological model and accounts temperature dependently for nonlinear hardening, thermally activated ...
