A review on forming techniques for manufacturing lightweight complex—shaped aluminium panel components

open access: yesInternational Journal of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture, 2018
Aluminium alloys are being increasingly utilised in the automotive and aerospace industries to reduce the weight of vehicles. Extensive research has been conducted to overcome the poor ductility of aluminium alloys at room temperature and improve ...

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

THERMAL EFFECT ANALYSIS OF ROLLING FRICTION IN HIGH SPEED COLD ROLL-BEATING FORMING

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2018
High-speed cold forming is a complex forming process coupling under multi factors, which has the rolling friction affecting the fluidity of the workpiece metal, and then affecting the quality and performance of the forming parts.

Comparison between incremental deformation theory and flow rule to simulate sheet-metal forming processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Numerical simulation of the deep drawing process for the manufacture of aeronautical or automotive components should predict with good accuracy the behaviour during the forming operation, taking into account, the material and the process parameters ...

Characterisation of the cold metal transfer (CMT) process and its application for low dilution cladding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The process characteristics of the synergic cold metal transfer (CMT) process have been examined for welding aluminium alloy. Utilising a simple backlighting system and through the arc monitoring the droplet transfer modes were identified.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

RESEARCH ON THE IMPACT OF FRICTION COEFFICIENT TO SCALE IN COLD ROLL-BEATING FORMING

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2017
Scale of forming surface in cold roll-beating forming process is a major defect. Controlling scaly defects is an important method to improve forming surface quality.

Prediction of the Evolution of the Surface Roughness in Dependence of the Lubrication System for Cold Forming Processes [PDF]

open access: yesTribology Letters, 2015
Lubricants for cold forging operations do not only enable a reliable forging process, but also affect the results of forging processes. A sound lubrication decreases the occurring forces and may result in a smooth specimen surface. However, some lubricants are known to increase the initial surface roughness of the specimen as a consequence of the ...

Robot-Assisted Cold and Warm Incremental Sheet Forming of Aluminum Alloy 6061: A Comparative Study

open access: yes, 2023
Incremental sheet forming (ISF) requires no or partial dies for sheet metal fabrication and is widely used for small batch production. In this process, necking is either suppressed or delayed due to the localized nature of tool–sheet contact; hence,
