COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Analysis of damage and fracture formulations in cold extrusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In forming processes, components generally undergo large deformations. This induces the evolution of damage, which can influence material and product properties.

Novel techniques to cool and rotate Bose-Einstein condensates in time-averaged adiabatic potentials

open access: yes, 2012
We report two novel techniques for cooling and rotating Bose-Einstein condensates in a dilute rubidium vapour that highlight the control and versatility afforded over cold atom systems by time-averaged adiabatic potentials (TAAPs).

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The influence of process parameters and sheet material on the temperature development in the forming zone

open access: yesManufacturing Review, 2019
Cold metal forming is a fast and economical way of producing a wide range of precise components. Its profitability mainly depends on part quality, process stability, and service intervals of tools.

On the Intermediate Annealing during Cold Forming Process of Steel

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Materials Science, Japan, 1966
Although annealing at around 700°C (below A1) is commonly recommended as the intermediate annealing during cold forming processes of steels, sometimes it does not necessarily gain satisfactory results, because the cold forming is generally heterogeneous deformation of steel.
