Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Oncogenic Splicing Factor SRSF1 Is a Critical Transcriptional Target of MYC
The SR protein splicing factor SRSF1 is a potent proto-oncogene that is frequently upregulated in cancer. Here, we show that SRSF1 is a direct target of the transcription factor oncoprotein MYC.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Transcription factors involved in cold response in plants. [PDF]
Studies in Arabidopsis have shown cold stress tolerance can be enhanced by manipulation of the CBF/DREB and ICE transcription factor genes. To date, few studies have investigated CBF and ICE genes in crops species such as barley. Using a C-repeat element

Fatigue life improvement in fatigue-aged fastener holes using the cold expansion technique [PDF]
The use of cold expansion process as a life extension technique on aircraft structural joints was investigated. The primary focus was an experimental test programme consisting of open-hole and low-load transfer joint specimens made of 2024-T351 ...

Abstract Cold-reactive autoantibodies can mask the presence of underlying clinically significant alloantibodies in a patient’s plasma or serum. These autoantibodies are problematic when performing laboratory procedures such as ABO typing, red blood cell (RBC) crossmatching, antibody detection testing, and antibody

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Synchrotron strain scanning for residual stress measurement in cold-drawn steel rods [PDF]
Cold-drawn steel rods and wires retain significant residual stresses as a consequence of the manufacturing process. These residual stresses are known to be detrimental for the mechanical properties of the wires and their durability in aggressive ...

Studies on the cold hardiness of the peach-potato aphid Myzus persicae (Sulzer) [PDF]
A system incorporating a prototype automatic thermoelectric cooling method with computer-based recording of aphid supercooling points was developed and formed the basis of cold hardiness assessment. Under laboratory culture all developmental stages of
