Overexpression of StBBX14 Enhances Cold Tolerance in Potato

open access: yesPlants
Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is an important food crop, but low temperature affects the potato growth and yield. In this study, the expression level of StBBX14 was significantly increased over 1 h and then gradually decreased under cold stress.

Effects of Biodegradable Liquid Film (BLF) on Cold Resistance in Grapevine Revealed by Metabolomic Analysis

open access: yesAgriculture, 2023
Low temperatures are among the most important abiotic stresses, severely affecting vine growth and development. In order to overwinter safely, grape growers pay high labor costs, which are unsustainable in modern agriculture.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

SUSTAINABILITY OF BULGARIAN AND TURKISH VARIETIES AND LINES OF WINTER BARLEY TO ABIOTIC STRESS

open access: yesTrakya University Journal of Natural Sciences, 2016
Cold resistance, drought resistance and water and temperature regime of 43 Bulgarian and Turkish winter barley varieties and lines were determined in field and laboratory conditions during the period 2005-2009. 50% of the study material was found to have

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Problems and Prospects of Improving Abiotic Stress Tolerance and Pathogen Resistance of Oil Palm

open access: yesPlants, 2021
Oil palm crops are the most important determinant of the agricultural economy within the segment of oilseed crops. Oil palm growing in their natural habitats are often challenged simultaneously by multiple stress factors, both abiotic and biotic that ...

Electrical resistivity near Pomeranchuk instability in two dimensions

open access: yes, 2006
We analyze the DC charge transport in the quantum critical regime near a d-wave Pomeranchuk instability in two dimensions. The transport decay rate is linear in temperature everywhere on the Fermi surface except at cold spots on the Brillouin zone ...
