Using iPSC‐derived motoneurons and postmortem tissue from FUS‐ALS patients, it is demonstrated that increased mitochondrial transcription leads to elevated cytosolic double‐stranded RNA (dsRNA) levels. This aberrant accumulation activates a RIG‐I–dependent innate immune response leading to neurodegeneration, which is amenable for FDA‐ and EMA‐approved ...

Single‐cell transcriptomic and functional analyses identify SEMA3C as a key regulator of tumor progression and tumor microenvironment remodeling in penile squamous cell carcinoma. SEMA3C promotes epithelial–mesenchymal transition, tumor growth, and invasion while shaping an immunosuppressive microenvironment, highlighting its potential as a prognostic ...

Observations of mesoscale vertical velocities around frontal zones [PDF]
Vertical velocity and reflectivity data obtained with a VHF Doppler radar over a 15-day period in October and November of 1981 are analyzed. Standard radiosonde data and surface observations were used to locate two occluded fronts, two warm fronts, and a

Temperature, organic matter and the sustainability of aquatic systems [PDF]
Changes in sustainability of aquatic ecosystems are likely to be brought about by the global warming that has been widely predicted. In this article, the effects of water temperature on water-bodies (lakes, oceans and rivers) are reviewed followed by the

Hyaluronate levels in donor organ washout effluents: a simple and predictive parameter of graft viability [PDF]
The principal cause of primary non-function in orthotopic liver transplantation is thought to be preservation injury to the microvasculature. We, therefore, evaluated if effluent levels of hyaluronate, whose uptake is an endothelial cell marker, could ...

Nanoscale Mapping of the Subcellular Glycosylation Landscape
Using multiplexed super‐resolution imaging with fluorophore‐labeled lectins, this study reports intracellular glycosylation at the nanoscale across organelles and synaptic specializations. Extending glycan analysis beyond the cell surface, Glyco‐STORM reveals distinct glycosylation nanodomains in the ER, Golgi, lysosomes, and synaptic sites.

Numerical simulations of compressible Rayleigh-Taylor turbulence in stratified fluids
We present results from numerical simulations of Rayleigh-Taylor turbulence, performed using a recently proposed lattice Boltzmann method able to describe consistently a thermal compressible flow subject to an external forcing.
