ABSTRACT Aim To assess the eruption patterns and progression of external replacement root resorption of eight teeth that were avulsed and had delayed replantation treated by regenerative endodontic treatment (RET). Methodology In total, 102 traumatised anterior teeth were treated with regenerative endodontic treatment (RET) between December 2016 and ...

Loss of interaction between plectin and type XVII collagen results in epidermolysis bullosa simplex [PDF]
Plectin is a linker protein that interacts with intermediate filaments and β4 integrin in hemidesmosomes of the epidermal basement membrane zone (BMZ). Type XVII collagen (COL17) has been suggested as another candidate plectin binding partner in hemidesmosomes. Here, we demonstrate that plectin-COL17 binding helps to maintain epidermal BMZ organization.

Identification of a human type XVII collagen fragment with high capacity for maintaining skin health
Collagen XVII (COL17) is a transmembrane protein that mediates skin homeostasis. Due to expression of full length collagen was hard to achieve in microorganisms, arising the needs for selection of collagen fragments with desired functions for microbial ...

Local Versus Systemic Antibiotics for Diabetic Foot Infection—A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis
Combined local and systemic antibiotic therapy improved clinical cure rates and shortened healing time in diabetic foot infections compared with systemic therapy alone. However, due to the low quality of existing studies, high‐quality randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings. ABSTRACT Diabetic foot infection (DFI) includes soft

Characterisation of dairy strains of Geobacillus stearothermophilus and a genomics insight into its growth and survival during dairy manufacture : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]
The thermophilic bacilli, such as G. stearothermophilus, are an important group of contaminants in the dairy industry. Although these bacilli are generally not pathogenic, their presence in dairy products is an indicator of poor hygiene and high numbers ...

Expression of Type XVII Collagen .ALPHA.1 Chain mRNA in the Mouse Heart.
The type XVII collagen alpha 1 chain has been identified as a component of the type I hemidesmosome, and is thus thought to play a role in extracellular matrix (ECM) maintenance and signal transduction between the cell and the ECM. We examined the expression of type XVII collagen alpha 1 chain mRNA in the mouse heart by Northern blot analysis and ...
