Effects of inhibitors of plasminogen activator, serine proteinases, and collagenase IV on the invasion of basement membranes by metastatic cells

open access: yes, 1988
Using both human and murine cell lines, we show that malignant cells are able to invade through basement membrane and also secrete elevated amounts of collagenase IV, an enzyme implicated in the degradation of basement membranes.

Self‐Assembling Hybrid Hydrogel Reprograms the Stromal Vascular Fraction to Treat Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioinspired injectable hydrogel that enhances the therapeutic potential of stem cell‐rich stromal vascular fraction for treating osteoarthritis. By reprogramming cell behavior through epigenetic modulation, the hydrogel promotes cartilage regeneration and reduces joint damage in a rat model, offering a promising new approach for ...

A polarimetric method for collagenase activity measurement

open access: yes, 1992
A polarimetric method for monitoring the rate of soluble collagen breakdown by collagenase enzyme action has been developed. The method represents an extension of previous physicochemical techniques based on viscometry, but is simpler and easier to carry

CD4+ Tregs Drive Post‐Ischemic Sprouting Angiogenesis via Endothelial YY1/MAML1 Reactivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microvascular complications of diabetes are chronic diseases of small vessels. We previously found that CD4+ regulatory T‐cells (Tregs) are markedly reduced in type 2 diabetes (T2D) after ischemic injury in both mice and humans, and that Treg deficiency in immunodeficient mice impairs vascular regeneration.
