Nature of the inhibitory effect of collagenase on phosphodiesterase activity.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1985
The level of phosphodiesterase (PDE) activity is lower in collagenase-isolated human fat cells than in adipose tissue fragments. The inhibition is not species-specific since collagenase also inhibits PDE in rat adipose tissue and bovine heart.

The Critical Role of MMP13 in Regulating Tooth Development and Reactionary Dentinogenesis Repair Through the Wnt Signaling Pathway

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2022
Matrix-metalloproteinase-13 (MMP13) is important for bone formation and remodeling; however, its role in tooth development remains unknown. To investigate this, MMP13-knockout (Mmp13−/−) mice were used to analyze phenotypic changes in the dentin–pulp ...

Effects of Annona muricata Extract on Trypsin, Cathepsin B and Collagenase Activities and Textural Changes in Chilled Macrobrachium rosenbergii

open access: yesFoods, 2023
Texture is an important sensory attribute for overall quality and consumer acceptance of prawns. However, texture is affected during cold storage due to the proteolytic activity of endogenous proteases, resulting in poor quality and a short shelf life ...

Ubiquitin-like protein from human placental extract exhibits collagenase activity.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
An aqueous extract of human placenta exhibits strong gelatinase/collagenase activity in zymography. 2-D gel electrophoresis of the extract with gelatin zymography in the second dimension displayed a single spot, identified as ubiquitin-like component ...

Collagenase does Not Persist in Human Islets following Isolation

open access: yesCell Transplantation, 2012
Optimal human islet isolation requires the delivery of bacterial collagenase to the pancreatic islet–exocrine interface. However, we have previously demonstrated the presence of collagenase within human islets immediately following intraductal ...

RECOVERY OF FIBRINOLYTIC AND COLLAGENOLYTIC ENZYMES FROM FISH AND SHRIMP BYPRODUCTS: POTENTIAL SOURCE FOR BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS

open access: yesBoletim do Instituto de Pesca, 2019
Fish and shrimp industries generate a significant amount of by-products. These by-products can be used for the extraction of enzymes of biomedical interest, such as fibrinolytic and collagenolytic.

Sustained Release of Phosphates From Hydrogel Nanoparticles Suppresses Bacterial Collagenase and Biofilm Formation in vitro

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2019
Intestinal disease or surgical intervention results in local changes in tissue and host-derived factors triggering bacterial virulence. A key phenotype involved in impaired tissue healing is increased bacterial collagenase expression which degrades ...
