Collective oblate dipole rotational bands in $^{198}$pb

open access: yes, 1993
The nucleus 198Pb was populated via the 186W(17O, 5n)198Pb reaction at beam energies of 92 and 98 MeV. Five collective rotational cascades of ΔI = 1 transitions have been found. Four are highly regular, one much more irregular.

The electronic structure of heavy fermions: Narrow temperature independent bands [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The electronic structure of both Ce and U heavy fermions appears to consist of extremely narrow temperature independent bands. There is no evidence from photoemission for a collective phenomenon normally referred to as the Kondo resonance.

Combined 5‐aminolevulinic acid and ferric ammonium citrate treatment promotes hair follicle growth by activating dermal papilla cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
5‐Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferric ammonium citrate (5‐ALA/FAC) stimulates dermal papilla cell activity and promotes hair follicle growth. The treatment enhances ERK and AKT signaling, increases hair‐inductive gene expression, and restores dermal papilla function suppressed by dihydrotestosterone and oxidative stress, resulting in enhanced hair

First observation of collective dipole rotational bands in the neutron-deficient bismuth nuclei

open access: yes, 1993
The nucleus 202Bi was populated via the 196Pt(11B,5n)202Bi reaction at a beam energy of 75 MeV. Three regular sequences of magnetic dipole transitions have been found.

Wobbling motion in Pr-135 within a collective Hamiltonian

open access: yes, 2016
The recently reported wobbling bands in Pr-135 are investigated by the collective Hamiltonian, in which the collective parameters, including the collective potential and the mass parameter, are respectively determined from the tilted axis cranking (TAC ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Collective properties of odd-mass Sb, I, Cs, and La nuclei. [Bands, quasi-proton states, unexpected properties]

open access: yes, 1979
The collective properties for the Z approximately greater than 50 transition region were studied via heavy-ion induced ..gamma..-ray experiments using /sup 6/ /sup 7/Li, /sup 10/B, /sup 12/ /sup 13/C, /sup 14/N, and /sup 16/O beams.

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Quadrupole collective dynamics from energy density functionals: Collective Hamiltonian and the interacting boson model

open access: yes, 2011
Microscopic energy density functionals have become a standard tool for nuclear structure calculations, providing an accurate global description of nuclear ground states and collective excitations.

Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...
