TTL implementation of a CAMB tree network switch [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Packet collisions and their resolution create a performance bottleneck in random-access LANs. A hardware solution to this problem is to use a collision avoidance switch.

Collision avoidance for Delay_Req messages in broadcast media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The time accuracy of the Precision Time Protocol deteriorates in consequence to Delay req/Delay resp session collisions common for applications using shared broadcast media.

Posture interpolation with collision avoidance

open access: yesProceedings of Computer Animation '94, 2002
While interpolating between successive postures of an articulated figure is not mathematically difficult, it is much more useful to provide postural transitions that are behaviorally reasonable and that avoid collisions with nearby objects. We describe such a posture interpolator which begins with a number of pre-defined static postures. A finite state

An Experimental High‐Throughput Approach for the Screening of Hard Magnet Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An entire workflow for the high‐throughput characterization and analysis of compositionally graded magnetic films is presented. Characterization protocols, data management tools and data analysis approaches are illustrated with test case Sm(Fe, V)12 based films.

The Effect of High Ship Speed Ratio on Collision Avoidance Behavior of COLREGS [PDF]

open access: yesTransNav, 2019
The speed ratio is an important factor that must be considered when two vessels will course change to avoid collision. In the process of the research on Personifying Intelligent Decision-making for Vessel Collision Avoidance (short for PIDVCA), it is ...

Digital Actuation Control of Soft Robotic Origami With Self‐Folding Liquid Crystal Elastomer Hinges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐folding soft‐rigid hybrid robotic origami is enabled by liquid crystal elastomer actuators with embedded Joule heating and closed‐loop digital control. Digitally addressable hinges provide reversible and programmable transitions between distinct folded states while maintaining actuation performance at high cycle counts (over 1500).

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Metal Integration Principles, Strategies and Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

Research on autonomous collision avoidance of merchant ship based on inverse reinforcement learning

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2020
To learn the optimal collision avoidance policy of merchant ships controlled by human experts, a finite-state Markov decision process model for ship collision avoidance is proposed based on the analysis of collision avoidance mechanism, and an inverse ...

Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.
