Sublinear Higson corona and Lipschitz extensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The purpose of the paper is to characterize the dimension of sublinear Higson corona $\nu_L(X)$ of $X$ in terms of Lipschitz extensions of functions: Theorem: Suppose $(X,d)$ is a proper metric space. The dimension of the sublinear Higson corona $\nu_L(

ORAL EXAMINATION OF THE COLON [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Roentgenology, 1974
A new method of radiologic colonic examination is described which consists of the oral administration of a "Colonic Cocktail" which consists of a special contrast preparation containing barium sulfate, sorbitol and water soluble contrast medium. The chief characteristics of this barium preparation are rapid progression through the small bowel and the ...

Cancer Risk in Patients With Systemic Sclerosis: A Nationwide Cohort Study in South Korea 2004 to 2021

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease characterized by tissue fibrosis, vasculopathy, and immune dysregulation. Our objectives were to quantify the overall and site‐specific cancer risks in patients with SSc compared to the general population, examine temporal trends in cancer incidence following SSc diagnosis, and explore ...

RRP9 Promotes Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Progression through E2F1 Transcriptional Regulation of CDK1

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The study reveals that RRP9 is abnormally highly expressed in ESCC tissues and is closely associated with poor prognosis in patients. Furthermore, it is found that RRP9 promotes ESCC progression through enhancing the E2F1‐mediated transcriptional regulation of CDK1.

Amide‐Linked Local Anesthetics Alter Tumor Biology in a Complex Human Tissue Model of Non‐Small Cell Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Amide local anesthetics (LA) affect tumor burden in various preclinical studies, possibly via their anti‐inflammatory properties. However, a translation into clinical evidence is still lacking. The current study demonstrates that LA ‐ even at clinically relevant concentrations – exert a strong anti‐tumoral effect in a complex ex vivo model patient ...

Transducer Materials Mediated Deep Brain Stimulation in Neurological Disorders

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review discusses advanced transducer materials for improving deep brain stimulation (DBS) in neurological disorders. These materials respond to light, ultrasound, or magnetic fields, enabling precise, less invasive neuromodulation. Their stimulus‐responsive properties enhance neural control and adaptive therapy, paving the way for next‐generation ...
