Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Effect of autonomic nervous system resection extent on urinary dysfunction in robotic rectal cancer surgery

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery
Aim We investigated whether autonomic nervous system resection during robotic rectal surgery contributes to urinary dysfunction and to what extent. Methods This retrospective cohort study included patients who underwent rectal surgery for primary rectal ...

Analysis of factors influencing early readmission after resection of primary rectal cancer [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2013
Purpose: Early readmission of patients who underwent resection for primary rectal cancer will raise social costs and resources for treatment and will affect the patients’ prognosis.

Comparison of three with six regions of interest analyses in patients with idiopathic constipation undertaking colon transit scintigraphy using 67Ga-citrate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
OBJECTIVE AND INTRODUCTION: Preparation of data from 6 geometric regions of interest in the colon is time consuming, and can become impractical in the environment of busy Nuclear Medicine Departments.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

A priori mixed hadrons, hyperon non-leptonic decays, and the |\Delta I|=1/2 rule

open access: yes, 2001
The |\Delta I|=1/2 rule in non-leptonic decays of hyperons can be naturally understood by postulating a priori mixed physical hadrons, along with the isospin invariance of the responsible transition operator.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Postoperative Survival Analysis of Elective Colorectal Cancer Surgery with Liver Cirrhosis: A Propensity-Matched Study

open access: yesCurrent Oncology
Background: Liver cirrhosis increases perioperative risk in colorectal cancer surgery, yet data on long-term outcomes remain limited. In this study, we evaluated postoperative morbidity, mortality, and survival in cirrhotic patients.
