Color image segmentation using a spatial k-means clustering algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper details the implementation of a new adaptive technique for color-texture segmentation that is a generalization of the standard K-Means algorithm. The standard K-Means algorithm produces accurate segmentation results only when applied to images

Design of a shift-and-add based hardware accelerator for color space conversion

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, a Nios II processor based hardware/software co-design architecture with high expandability and development flexibility is proposed. The architecture integrates a pipelined color space converter (CSC), hardware accelerator (HA), and a LCD ...

RGB Color Calibration for Quantitative Image Analysis: The “3D Thin-Plate Spline” Warping Approach

open access: yesSensors, 2012
In the last years the need to numerically define color by its coordinates in n-dimensional space has increased strongly. Colorimetric calibration is fundamental in food processing and other biological disciplines to quantitatively compare samples’ color ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Novel Framework for Optical Film Defect Detection and Classification

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Currently, liquid crystal displays (LCDs) are the most popular type of flat panel display and are used in most applications. An LCD contains many critical optical film components that are produced in highly automated and precisely monitored facilities ...

Exemplar-based colorization in RGB color space [PDF]

open access: yes2014 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2014
This paper deals with the problem of image colorization. A model including total variation regularization is proposed. Our approach colorizes directly the three RGB channels, while most existing methods were only focusing on the two chrominance channels. By using the three channels, our approach is able to better preserve color consistency.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Technical training for the application of L*a*b* color space to spot color matching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Plan BSpecial color matches in the printing industry have been done by subjective means ever since the first colored ink was put in a printing press. Special, or spot colors are colors that are printed individually rather than being “built” from other ...

Designing Recolorization Algorithms to Help People with Color Vision Anomalies

open access: yesДоклады Белорусского государственного университета информатики и радиоэлектроники, 2023
The problem of perception of visual information by people with color vision anomalies remains quite relevant, as evidenced by the interest in studying this problem not only in medicine, but also in the field of medical technology.
