Mid-Infrared Evidence for Accelerated Evolution in Compact Group Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We find evidence for accelerated evolution in compact group galaxies from the distribution in mid-infrared colorspace of 42 galaxies from 12 Hickson Compact Groups (HCGs) compared to the the distributions of several other samples including the LVL+SINGS ...

CAR T‐Cell Therapy in Neurology: A Scoping Review of Neuro‐Oncology, Autoimmune Diseases & Neurotoxicity

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell therapy has been investigated in neurological diseases, encompassing both central nervous system malignancies and autoimmune disorders, thereby extending its application beyond hematological cancers.

The Chameleonic Contribution to the SZ Radial Profile of the Coma Cluster

open access: yes, 2010
We constrain the chameleonic Sunyaev--Zel'dovich (CSZ) effect in the Coma cluster from measurements of the Coma radial profile presented in the WMAP 7-year results.

Recurrent Hypothermia and Autonomic Dysfunction Secondary to Shapiro Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A 44‐year‐old man presented with recurrent hypothermia, diaphoresis and hypertension. Extensive investigation for infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and endocrine aetiologies was negative. MR scan of the brain demonstrated no lesions but revealed callosal dysgenesis, consistent with Shapiro syndrome.

Contemporary management of pain in cirrhosis: Toward precision therapy for pain

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Chronic pain is highly prevalent in patients with cirrhosis and is associated with poor health‐related quality of life and poor functional status. However, there is limited guidance on appropriate pain management in this population, and pharmacologic treatment can be harmful, leading to adverse outcomes, such as gastrointestinal bleeding ...

Star formation, starbursts and quenching across the Coma supercluster

open access: yes, 2010
We analyse Spitzer MIPS 24micron observations, and SDSS (DR7) optical broadband photometry and spectra, to investigate the star formation (SF) properties of galaxies residing in the Coma supercluster region.

A deep wide survey of faint low surface brightness galaxies in the direction of the Coma cluster of galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We report on a search for faint (R total magnitude fainter than 21) and low surface brightness galaxies (R central surface brightness fainter than ~24) (fLSBs) in a 0.72x0.82 deg2 area centered on the Coma cluster.

A Qualitative Analysis of Patient Perspectives and Preferences in Lupus Management to Guide Lupus Guidelines Development

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective A patient‐centered approach for chronic disease management, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), aligns treatment with patients’ values and preferences, leading to improved outcomes. This paper summarizes how patient experiences, perspectives, and priorities informed the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 2024 Lupus Nephritis (LN)

Health disparities in chronic liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract The syndemic of hazardous alcohol consumption, opioid use, and obesity has led to important changes in liver disease epidemiology that have exacerbated health disparities. Health disparities occur when plausibly avoidable health differences are experienced by socially disadvantaged populations.
