Combinatorial Markets for Efficient Electricity Management

open access: yes, 2005
The deregulation of the electricity industry in many countries has created a number of marketplaces in which producers and consumers can operate in order to more effectively manage and meet their energy needs. To this end, this paper develops a new model

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Phosphodiesterase Inhibition and Immunotropic Activity of Dipyridamole Dynamic Derivatives

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology
Introduction. Many pharmacological properties of dipyridamole (DIP) are associated with its ability to inhibit phosphodiesterases (PDEs). Actually, DIP has interesting properties like antiviral for influenza, SARS-2 COVID-19, and herpesviruses.

Rationally reduced libraries for combinatorial pathway optimization minimizing experimental effort

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Rational design in metabolic engineering is often difficult and limited to small screens, favouring construction of compressed smart libraries. Here the authors introduce RedLibs, an algorithm to design combinatorial RBS libraries to allow pathway ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.
