Accelerated Driving-Training-Based Optimization for Solving Constrained Bi-Objective Stochastic Optimization Problems

open access: yesMathematics
The constrained bi-objective stochastic optimization problem (CBSOP) considers the optimization problem with stochastic bi-objective functions subject to deterministic constraints.

A Review of the L-Band Auction [PDF]

open access: yes
In May 2008, Ofcom’s L-band auction concluded. This was Ofcom’s second combinatorial clock auction. The auction used an innovative format intended to encourage an efficient assignment of the 17 lots. Eight bidders competed for the lots. In sharp contrast

Combinatorial Diffusion Auction Design

open access: yesCoRR
Diffusion auction design for combinatorial settings is a long-standing challenge. One difficulty is that we cannot directly extend the solutions for simpler settings to combinatorial settings (like extending the Vickrey auction to VCG in the traditional settings).

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Sobre o uso de métodos quimiométricos em química combinatória The use of chemometric methods on combinatorial chemistry

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2000
Combinatorial chemistry has emerged as a tool to circumvent a major problem of pharmaceutical industries to discover new lead compounds. A rapid and massive evaluation of a myriad of newly synthesised compounds can be carried out. Combinatorial synthesis

A Review of the 10-40 GHz Auction [PDF]

open access: yes
In February 2008, Ofcom’s 10-40 GHz auction concluded. This was Ofcom’s first combinatorial clock auction. The auction used an innovative format intended to encourage an efficient assignment of the 27 lots.
