In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Estimation of combining ability for selection of Triticum aestivum L. genotypes with some yield related traits [PDF]
Combining ability analysis was studied in 2013-2014 a line × tester with six lines and three testers of wheat. Genetic variability among genotypes was assessed for plant height, days to heading, days to maturity, number of tillers per plant, number of ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Combining abilitys for yield components in sunflower
In order to develop new single-cross sunflower hybrids with an altered plant model and a high genetic potential for seed yield and oil content, it is essential to study the combining abilitys of the inbred lines. Full diallel crosses with six genetically divergent sunflower inbreds were carried out in order to study the mode of inheritance and ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

STUDY OF COMBINING ABILITY OF NEW SELF-POLLINATED LINES OF MAIZE IN CENTRAL PART OF KRASNODAR KRAI
It’s common knowledge that any success of breeding work largely depends on initial material. The staff of Krasnodar RIA named after P.P. Lukiyanenko is carrying out a significant work in breeding, assessment and classification of new initial material for

Heterosis and combining ability for yield and other agronomic traits in Triticale
The estimation of genetic parameters such as heterosis (Mh), heterobeltiosis (Hh), general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) allows inferences about the predominant action of the genes, indicates the appropriate selection ...
