Experimental Analysis of the Nb(C,N) Pinning Effects on Austenite Grain Growth Coupled with Mean‐Field Simulations

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Refining austenite is key to preventing surface cracks during continuous casting of. This study combines in situ high‐temperature confocal microscopy with mean‐field simulations to model grain size evolution, highlighting the grain‐refining effect of niobium carbonitride precipitates on the austenitic microstructure.

The Gold‐Maker of Animal Oil and Prussian Blue Fame — The Chemical and Medicinal Science Philosophy of Johann Conrad Dippel

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
The radical Pietist Johann Conrad Dippel was a self‐proclaimed adept – a maker of gold and the philosophers’ stone. He was also a magister of theology, a doctor of medicine, and a self‐taught chemist, who coinvented the pigment Prussian Blue together with Johann von Diesbach, became known for his animal pyrolysis oil, his wonder‐wound balm, his ...

Ecotoxicology of Mercerized Cellulose–Treated Tannery Effluents Using Salvinia auriculata (Salviniaceae) as a Bioindicator

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Given the growing concern over the environmental impacts of industrial effluents, particularly from tanneries, assessing the ecotoxicological risks associated with these effluents, even after remediation treatments, is crucial. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the potential effects of exposure to raw and treated tannery effluents with ...

Large Language Models With Contrastive Decoding Algorithm for Hallucination Mitigation in Low‐Resource Languages

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neural machine translation (NMT) has advanced with deep learning and large‐scale multilingual models, yet translating low‐resource languages often lacks sufficient training data and leads to hallucinations. This often results in translated content that diverges significantly from the source text.
